Before you install

Package: online.whoisthis.whoisthis
Android: Android 8.0 or newer, 64-bit device. Camera required for live recognition; still photos work without one.
Signing certificate: — (SHA-256). Compare before installing an APK from anywhere else.
Release feed: /download/latest.json — version, build number, APK URL and checksum of the current release.

Supported phones

We do not lower recognition quality to fit a device. A phone is supported when its camera can deliver a native head crop of at least 200 × 200 pixels at a normal conversation distance and its processor runs the on-device models in real time. Recent Pixel, Samsung Galaxy S and A5x-and-up, and comparable devices meet this; very low-end phones may only support still photos.

Companion plugins

Glasses, doorbells, and other cameras connect through reviewed companion apps, one repository per device family, signed with their own key and published after merge. The app shows a plugin as a verified build only when its package and signer match the ones pinned in the app.
